The image resonates with the simple idea of class struggles. The idea is that the proletariats have to sell their own labor power since they cannot produce it on their own. So the phrase captured in the image has the sense that there is competitiveness present in business transactions. Not one person would give leverage to others therefore trying to maximize their own profits by not teaching others of their methods.

I love how this image plays on a phrase I have often heard used before I knew anything about Marxism. The revision of this phrase is also upsettingly accurate in the context of the capitalist system in which we live. It seems increasingly that we are being made to know less as a people in order that we may be marketed to more.
I agree with both of you guys. This picture has such a powerful phrase. Its scary how we are actually the in the working class and a lot of our money is going towards the rich. And today the world is nothing but people competing with others and trying to get to the top.

Looking at what Katina wrote about teaching, I can’t help but think about what a different place the world would be were everyone given the same opportunities to learn to fish, so to speak, and how important said opportunities are when it comes to who ends up where in the class hierarchy.
